Position Summary
The Communications Attendant is responsible for maintaining the Town's presence and visibility on social media, particularly in connection with activities and events. The position also contributes to the development of platforms and tools to promote Cap-Acadie and is responsible for monitoring and promoting municipal and community activities.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Attend Town activities and events to provide coverage and increase their visibility on social media.
- Engage and energize social media before, during and after activities and events.
- Create engaging content adapted to different platforms (photos, videos, posts, stories, etc.).
- Develop new platforms and communication methods to reach more residents.
- Promote and showcase Cap-Acadie, its attractions, people, activities and achievements.
- Propose new ideas and initiatives to increase the Town's visibility and reach.
- Very comfortable communicating with the public and interacting with people of all ages and from diverse backgrounds.
- Dynamic, outgoing and positive personality.
- Comfortable being in front of or behind the camera to create content.
- Creative and able to take initiative.
- Able to represent the Town in a professional and welcoming manner.
- Good judgment and comfortable working independently.
- Organized and able to manage multiple activities and projects simultaneously.
- Available to work evenings and weekends, as attending activities is an important part of the role.
- Education in communications, marketing, digital media, public relations, journalism or a related field, or relevant experience in communications and social media management.
- Excellent knowledge of social media and digital trends.
- Good command of content creation tools (Canva, video editing, photography, etc.).
- Excellent written and spoken French and English.
Permanent full-time position (35 hours/week), with a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends, depending on municipal activities and events.
