Thanks to the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation’s (CMHC) Rapid Housing Construction Fund (RHCF), Cap-Acadie can support residential development within its territory. To promote access to homeownership, the Municipality currently offers three financial incentive programs:
Financial Incentives for Affordable Housing, Large-Scale Projects, and Single-Family Homes
The Regional Municipality of Cap-Acadie wants to encourage young adults and families under the age of 40 to settle in the area. Policy P-04 aims to promote access to homeownership and increase the local young population.
The municipality also wants to implement incentive measures to allow current residents to age in place in Cap-Acadie.

Financial Incentives for Prefabricated Construction in Cap-Acadie
The Prefabricated Construction Incentive Policy (P-13) aims to encourage and promote the use of modular prefabricated construction techniques in Cap-Acadie’s residential sector, with the goal of financially supporting the increased availability of prefabricated housing. It also seeks to diversify the housing supply, paving the way for more affordable and innovative alternatives, such as modular and prefabricated homes.
Financial Incentives for Accessory Dwelling Units
The Accessory Dwelling Unit Incentive Policy (P-20) is designed to encourage secondary dwellings by supporting the creation of a smaller second dwelling on the same property as a primary residence.The main objective of this initiative is to increase the supply of affordable housing in the Cap-Acadie area by facilitating the installation of accessory dwellings on existing properties.This approach aligns with the goal of diversifying the housing supply and creating more inclusive communities.
