Born in 1974 in Brittany, Grégory Pol is a French photographer specializing in nature, wildlife, and adventure photography. From a young age, he has carried a passion for the oceans and exploration, particularly dreaming of joining Captain Cousteau's crew.
After living in various overseas territories, he joined the French Navy in 1995, where he became a navigator and diver. In 2018, after 23 years in the navy, he left the institution to dedicate himself fully to photography. His images, often created in wild and challenging environments — the Arctic, Antarctic, oceans, and overseas territories — combine an aesthetic approach with a desire to raise awareness about the fragility of life and the protection of biodiversity.
Author of several books, including "Les Yeux du Harfang," "Nord et Blanc," and "Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, Terre de passions," he exhibits his work in France and many other countries.
He collaborates with various media outlets and organizations committed to environmental awareness.
In June 2026, Grégory Pol was appointed Official Painter of the Navy as a photographer, a recognition that echoes his career as a sailor and his work dedicated to the sea and to wild territories.
