Site Visit: Nature-based Infrastructure Initiatives
Are you curious about nature-based solutions and natural infrastructure strategies for effectively addressing climate change? If so, we invite you to join us this summer for an exciting and educational journey.
Participants will have the opportunity to visit and learn about several of Parlee Beach Provincial Park’s nature-based infrastructure initiatives and environmental adaptation projects.
The guided tour will highlight green infrastructure used to manage stormwater, including bioswales, stormwater filtering systems, and a rain garden featuring native plants such as common butterfly milkweed that support monarch butterflies and other pollinators.
The visit will also explore the park’s coastal geography, dune system, beach nourishment efforts, and climate resilience measures, along with the greenhouse project and broader sustainability initiatives within the park.

Logistics: Free event. Parking available. This event will take place rain or shine without alternate dates. We will only cancel in the event of severe or dangerous conditions.
This series is organized by the New Brunswick Environmental Network, the Government of New Brunswick, Nature NB, the Town of Riverview, and Mill Creek Nature Park. The site visits are free and bilingual.
